Collingham Cricket Club beat Eastwood Town in the South Nottinghamshire League

A super century from Jacob Fisher helped steer Collingham 2nds to an emphatic victory in the South Nottinghamshire League on Saturday.

Fisher thumped 125 runs as Collingham beat Eastwood Town by almost the same margin in their Division C clash at Dale Field.

It means Collingham are top of the fledgling standings after a strong and unbeaten start to the new campaign.

They racked 308-3 from their 45 overs after being put into bat on Saturday with Fisher forming two century-plus partnerships.

He put on 103 runs in an opening stand with Ross Taylor who made 53 before being caught by Neil Gregory off the bowling of Joe Bird.

Fisher and David Pipes then picked up the mantle with a 171-run partnership for the second wicket until Fisher was run out for 125.

Pipes closed the innings on 85 not out before reasserting their grip on the contest when Eastwood went into bat.

The visitors were dismissed for 184 as Wilf Wright took 4-53 while Will Hillman claimed 2-23 before Fisher finished a fine personal performance with 2-25.

Dave Colcomb claimed four wickets for Balderton 2nds in their 132-run reversal against West Bridgfordians in Division F.

He finished with 4-41 from 12 overs as their hosts made 230-6 after Balderton had won the toss and elected to field.

The visitors were then bowled out for 98 in reply as they patiently played their way to nearly the 44-over mark.

Alan Jackson top-scored with 35 while Andrew Smart struck an unbeaten 26 as James Somers took 4-12 for the victorious Bridgfordians.
