Take aim at the oche with Brohmon Indian restaurant and Stansted Bowling Club’s charity darts fundraiser for Macmillan Cancer Support

Villages are being invited to step up to the oche and take aim to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.

A charity darts tournament has been jointly organised by Chapel Hill’s award-winning Indian restaurant Brohmon and Stansted Bowling Club on Monday May 20 at the club’s Recreation Ground venue.

Karim Ullah, co-founder of Brohmon, said it was a fantastic opportunity for people to come together for an evening of fun, food and fundraising, with all profits raised going directly to the charity.

Participants of all levels are invited to join in and the tournament will feature various darts games and competitions, ensuring something for everyone. Darts will even be provided.

Said Karim: “We’re thrilled to host this charity darts evening, combining the thrill of the game with the opportunity to raise funds for Macmillan cancer research.”

The £12 entry includes delicious Indian food, raffles and prizes. For more information and to register email karim@brohmon.com

Brohmon - which means ‘journey’ in Bengali – was founded by Karim and his wife, Sultana, and specialises in rustic Bengali and Indian dishes that are popular throughout the subcontinent. Brohmon’s aim is to bring more authentic Bengali and Indian dishes to the UK.

It opened in Stansted in March 2020 – 11 days before the first national lockdown, but has since gone on to be voted the best restaurant in Essex at The British Restaurant Awards 2022 and has won the TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards for the last three years.

Stansted Bowling Club dates back to 1904 and today welcomes everyone from beginners to experienced players. Its popular Friday evening socials are a good time to pop along and try out the game and enjoy a drink from the bar.

Macmillan Cancer Support, founded in 1911, is one of the largest British charities and provides specialist health care information and financial support to people affected by cancer.

It also looks at the social, emotional and practical impact cancer can have and campaigns for better care. Macmillan Cancer Support’s goal is to reach and improve the lives of everyone affected by cancer in the UK.
