The Magpies are in talks to sign the 26-year-old from Fulham, with his contract at Craven Cottage due to expire this summer. That has given Newcastle United the chance to sign a talented Premier League defender for nothing, at a time when they are being hamstrung by profit and sustainability.
That is why Tosin Adarabioyo is so appealing, while he is also enthused about the prospect of moving to St James’ Park. He is interested in the project that has been presented to him, while the chance to work with Eddie Howe is viewed as a great opportunity by Tosin.
The former Manchester City man has the chance to make that opportunity a reality, with Newcastle United submitting an official offer over the weekend.

It was reported on Tuesday by Sky Sports that Manchester United are also interested in signing the defender, and would like to hold talks with his representatives about a move to Old Trafford.
The Red Devils need reinforcements at the back, as it has been a problem position for them this season. They have had to play a 36-year-old Jonny Evans far too much, while Raphael Varane has confirmed that he will be leaving this summer.
Tosin would be a cheap replacement for the World Cup winner, and Man United may feel as though they have a couple of aces up their sleeve. The player is from Manchester, while he has previously worked with Jason Wilcox, who has just taken over as Man United’s technical director.

With Man United also in the race to sign Tosin, that adds another layer of intrigue to tonight’s game at Old Trafford. Newcastle are being tipped to beat Erik ten Hag’s side, as they go in search of European qualification.

And, if Newcastle can take advantage of Man United’s poor form, Tosin should also be able to see another team that appears directionless without proper leadership. Newcastle need to make an example of Man United – not just to win the game but to prove to Tosin that he should move to the North East rather than the North West.
While Man United have ambitions of getting back to the top of the game under Sir Jim Ratcliffe, it is unclear how long that journey will take. Meanwhile, Newcastle are already on that journey, and are making all the right decisions.
