President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has instructed to postpone all international events with his participation scheduled for the coming days, according to his spokesman Sergii Nykyforov.
"We are grateful to our partners for their understanding," he wrote on Facebook.
According to him, Zelenskyy held a daily conference call, primarily on the situation in the Kharkiv region and the provision of the Ukrainian forces.
The president heard a report from Chief of the General Staff Anatoliy Barhylevych.
"The commanders of the State Border Guard Service, the National Guard of Ukraine, and Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi are working on the ground, making all decisions based on comprehensive information. Additional forces are being deployed, reserves are available. The intelligence agencies – the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine and the Foreign Intelligence Service – are aware of all potential enemy moves," Nykyforov wrote.
The spokesman adds that Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi regularly reports to the president on the situation.
Situation in Kharkiv region and Zelenskyy's canceled trips
Earlier, CNN Portugal reported that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy canceled his visit to Portugal and Spain, which was scheduled for this week. According to the media, it was due to the serious internal situation in Ukraine.
On the night of May 10, Russian troops launched an offensive in the north of the Kharkiv region and captured about 10 settlements. The Defense Ministry confirmed that some Russian infantry groups had entered Vovchansk.
