Russian troops resumed assault operations in the Kupyansk-Lyman sector. Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled 16 Russian attacks there over the last day, according to Roman Semenukha, deputy head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration.

"In fact, since yesterday, Rusia has resumed active assault operations in the Kupyansk-Lyman direction, in the directions of the settlements of Lyman Pershyi and Synkivka. Fighting continues there," he says.

According to the deputy head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Ukrainian troops repelled 16 Russian attacks in the Kupyansk-Lyman sector over the last day. Russians had no success.

"The Ukrainian Armed Forces are reliably holding the eastern front of Kharkiv region," he adds.

Fighting near Vovchansk

On the night of May 9-10, the Russian army attempted a second offensive in the north of Kharkiv region. A major front breakthrough was avoided, but the Russians occupied several border settlements.

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Russian occupiers are not taking any active actions today, but are trying to gain a foothold and regroup.

Today there were reports that Russians entered Vovchansk (a Ukrainian city on the border near Russia). The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense confirmed that small Russian infantry groups have entered the city and are trying to gain a foothold in the northern part.
