EPL: Title won’t be decided on goal difference after Man City’s win at Tottenham

Manchester City cannot win the Premier League title on goal difference, following their 2-0 win at Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday night.

The champions are well on course to win the trophy for a fourth successive season, thanks to Erling Haaland’s brace against Spurs.

The nervy win took City up to 88 points, two more than Arsenal in second place.

If Pep Guardiola’s men win their last fixture against West Ham, they will be crowned title winners no matter the result between Arsenal and Everton at the Emirates.

However, if they drop points and Arsenal beat Sean Dyche’s men, Mikel Arteta’s men will win the title for the first time in 20 years.

The only way the title would have possibly been decided on goal difference is if City drew against Spurs.
