President Joe Biden, fresh off a CNN interview where he told 15 lies in 17 minutes, as the New York Post editorial board noted, continues to spin yarns about the strength and resilience of the U.S. economy that are believed only by the most gullible or hardened leftists.
As the conservative website Twitchy noted on Tuesday, Biden claimed that inflation was 9% when he took office during an interview with Yahoo Finance.
This is an outright lie that is easily refuted. Yet Biden has cited this stat as gospel twice within the last week. The first time was in that CNN interview.

As Twitchy also noted, the actual figure was 1.4% when former President Donald Trump left office.
Under Biden inflation actually peaked at 9.1% during the summer of 2022.
The rate has come down slowly in ensuing months, as the Federal Reserve has tried to choke it with interest rates that, at times, have hit 40-year highs under Biden.
Still, the inflation rate remains stubbornly higher than the Fed’s target by hovering above 3%, and was actually trending up according to federal government’s latest report.
In its report, Twitchy asked, “Where are the fact-checkers?”
Well, it appears that Biden’s springtime snow job is even too obvious and too much for the leftist “fact-checkers” to ignore.
FactCheck.org and CNN’s fact-checker, Daniel Dale, both actually noted that Biden was not being honest.

In his piece on Tuesday, Dale wrote, “Biden’s claim that the inflation rate was 9% when he became president is not close to true.”
“Biden’s claims make it sound like inflation is much lower today than it was when he was inaugurated,” Dale added, “but it is actually higher, though there has been a steep decline since the June 2022 peak.”
Yes, the current 3.5% is a “steep” decline from 9.1%, but it is still more than double the rate when Trump left office.
The fact-checkers, however, ignore the most relevant question about Biden raised by Twitchy.
“He is a pathological liar. The guy lies — repeatedly — about his son dying in Iraq. He'll lie about anything,” the outlet noted. “Someone sent him out there with this 9 percent nonsense. Who was it?”
