TV star's tour 'saved him' even though hating music fans showed up with 'cheater' signs

Tom Sandoval faced concert backlash after his affair came out, with haters turning up with ‘cheater’ signs, as well as ‘scumbag’ and ‘worm with a moustache’ boards – but his tour “saved him”.

The Vanderpump Rules star’s affair was so big it got its own nickname: Scandoval. Tom Sandoval had to come up as he had to muster up energy, head on tour with his band and face the haters.

Tom Sandoval faced concert backlash

Tom Sandoval revealed on the Vanderpump Rules After Show how haters would turn up to his tour with his band, Tom Sandoval & The Most Extras, and sit in the front row holding up nasty signs.

“There [were] people showing up with [signs that said] ‘scumbag’ and ‘cheater,’ ‘worm with a mustache,’ they’re all sitting in the front row. I have to go out and sing in front of them,” he said.

However, Sandoval claims it was mainly online when people were “so ridiculous,” with the Bravo star adding how most people and show viewers in real life are “normal, chill, nice people.”

His tour ‘saved him’ despite haters

Just weeks after Tom’s affair while in a nine-year relationship with Ariana Madix came out, he had to continue his tour. “Touring, it saved me, in a lot of ways,” he shared on the May 14 After Show.

“I had to do things I felt like I could have control over because I didn’t have very much control over everything,” he added, admitting it was “hard” but that it was “so rewarding” looking back.

“Looking back, to go out on stage when you feel like everybody hates you and you got to go out and be a lead singer in a band called Tom Sandoval & the Most Extras,” he recalled.

‘In your face’ song stopped chants

Tom Sandoval had to plan ahead for chants. “We would initially start off our show with a slower-building song, and we had to change it to a big, in-your-face kick-in-the-f-cking-doors song,” he said.

He said the reason for this was “to make sure that nobody started any kind of chants or anything”. Sandoval added of him and his band, “Honestly, we brought out such positive energy.”

Recalling his tour shortly after the affair came out, he said, “A lot of people came to be a certain way and ended up just having a blast. Like, by the end, people would be like, ‘I had a good time.'”
