New boss Mark Bonner will want to bring his own men in this summer and needs to make space for new arrivals.

Eight players are definitely leaving following the expiry of their contracts, including striker Macauley Bonne - who played the second half of last season on loan at Cambridge United – and captain Shaun Williams.

Experienced keeper Glenn Morris and young midfielder Dom Jefferies have both been offered new terms as their contracts expire this summer.

The club would be compensated should any team take Jefferies, as he is under 24.

Those also leaving the club are young pros Ike Orji, Matty Macarthur, Ronald Sithole, Josh Chambers, Kieron Agbebi and young goalie Nathan Harvey.

In contract with the Gills and in the plans for next season are Jake Turner, Max Ehmer, Shad Ogie, Conor Masterson, Sam Gale, Alex Giles, Robbie McKenzie, Max Clark, Remeao Hutton, Jonny Williams, Tim Dieng, Ethan Coleman, Jayden Clarke, Joe Gbode and Josh Andrews.

Loan players returned to their parent clubs are Connor Mahoney, Josh Walker and Jorge Hurtado.

The club said that “for those leaving the club, we wish all players the very best for the future.”

Gillingham have yet to confirm details of which youth players will be offered professional terms.
