What Moises Caicedo and Malo Gusto were seen doing during Brighton vs Chelsea - journalist

Moises Caicedo and Malo Gusto have both been important players for Chelsea this season.

Moises Caicedo has made more than 45 appearances for Chelsea, while Malo Gusto has made over 30.

Both players started in the Blues’ game against Brighton & Hove Albion, their penultimate match of the campaign.

Being Chelsea’s record signing, Caicedo was always going to be a regular under Mauricio Pochettino this term.

As for Gusto, he has got plenty of minutes because of Reece James’ injury problems. Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand actually thinks the 20-year-old has been the best right-back in the Premier League.

Moises Caicedo and Malo Gusto communicating key in first half against Brighton

According to Evening Standard journalist Nizaar Kinsella, Caicedo and Gusto were talking to each other a lot in the first half at the Amex Stadium.

Chelsea’s shape was quite an interesting one on the evening.

It saw Gusto come into midfield at times, like what Marc Cucurella has been doing as an inverted full-back on the other side, while Caicedo dropped into the right-back position.

The above is likely to be what the midfielder and defender were discussing.

And with Chelsea taking the lead in the first 45 minutes, thanks to another Cole Palmer goal, Pochettino did not get too much wrong.

Mauricio Pochettino evolving at Chelsea

All of those small tactical tweaks Pochettino has enforced in recent weeks show that the Argentine is evolving.

He has obviously got some things wrong this season, hence why Chelsea only entered the fray for European football recently.

However, Pochettino is finally getting the team to perform. They have had some fantastic results of late, including the 5-0 hammering of West Ham United.

According to journalist Simon Phillips, Chelsea are going to have their end-of-season review on Monday. At this stage, it would be extremely harsh if Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali went on to sack the former Paris Saint-Germain and Tottenham Hotspur manager.
