'I hope you're listening': Conservative George Conway gives direct message to 'wuss' Trump

Lincoln Project co-founder George Conway went directly after Donald Trump saying that he's too scared to testify in his own defense.

Trump has been trying to go after the district attorney, the judge's daughter, and witnesses for his Manhattan trial, where he's charged with 34 felony counts involving the falsification of documents. But at no point has he explained in his own words exactly why he is innocent of the crimes accused.

Given Trump is prevented from attacking others, the only option has been organizing a gaggle of loyalists to speak on his behalf. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) confessed he was there to break the gag order for Trump. One reporter told MSNBC on Tuesday that he observed Trump editing the statements from the lawmakers while Michael Cohen was testifying.

"They're bringing the people up there to show a fealty to him, to quench his narcissistic thirst," said Conway. "That's actually probably a good deal of what's fully going on there. I mean, they are trying to maintain his psychological composure, which is a very, very difficult thing to do."

Conway said that if he was Trump's lawyer, he would urge him not to testify, recalling one of Trump's former attorneys telling Bob Woodward, "he's an effing liar."

"If he doesn't testify, it's not going to be because he all of the sudden decided to follow legal advice," Conway continued. "He's causing his lawyers to do stupid things in court, like the cross-examination of Stormy and cross-examination with Michael. He doesn't listen to his lawyers, if he doesn't testify, it's because he's scared."

That's when Conway looked directly into the camera, leaning closer to the lens.

"Donald, Donald, you like to say the things in the hallway because nobody gets to ask you questions," Conway jabbed. "If they ask questions, you walk away. Donald, I hope you're listening to me. You, Donald, are a wuss. You are scared of actually doing what Stormy Daniels had to do and what Michael Cohen had to do and what every other person who is called."

Conway then knocked the ex-president for going after everyone he says is a liar, but he never goes beyond insults to fight the issue itself.

"You know, you can't call these people liars, Donald, unless you go on the stand and tell your truth," Conway said. "Let's hear it. Are you afraid, Donald? I think you are."
