The United States is preparing to send a new batch of weapons and military equipment to Ukraine, according to a briefing by White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre.

"We are also working on another package to get urgently needed Aid to Ukraine," she said.

Jean-Pierre did not specify what exactly would be included in the new package. However, she mentioned that the US is trying to assist the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kharkiv region, where Ukrainian forces are engaged in fierce battles.

According to the spokesperson, the Russians have initiated an offensive attempt in the Kharkiv region and may soon accelerate the pace of their offensive operations there. Russia is doing this to create a shallow buffer zone along the Ukrainian border.

"And we have been coordinating closely with Ukraine to help them prepare," Jean-Pierre said.

US assistance

After a prolonged pause, the United States began providing military assistance to Ukraine. The packages include missiles, armored personnel carriers, and other military equipment.

Last time, US President Joe Biden allocated $400 million in military aid to Ukraine.
