There are two exciting players Liverpool could sign from Vasco da Gama if FSG buy the club - opinion

FSG are reportedly interested in purchasing Brazilian side Vasco da Gama, and Liverpool could sign two players from them.

During the last few years, it has become evident FSG have explored turning Liverpool into a multi-club model.

Earlier this year the club’s owners made a huge step in that direction with the appointment of Michael Edwards, who noticeably became FSG’s head of football operations – not Liverpool’s.

Another two appointments in Julian Ward and Pedro Marques, both as FSG employees rather than Liverpool, is yet more proof of that.

FSG’s multi-club purchase cannot be far away.

Who is Vasco da Gama? FSG’s reported next purchase

According to GE Globo in Brazil, FSG are considering purchasing Vasco da Gama – a historic side currently playing in the top tier of Brazilian football.

Not only is it known as a historic club, Vasco has also produced a lot of exciting young talent over the last decade and has an impressive academy.

Academy graduates from the club include Philippe Coutinho, for example, as well as Aston Villa’s Douglas Luiz and Chelsea’s Andrey Santos.

Who could Liverpool buy from Vasco da Gama?

One of the most talented young players in Vasco’s set-up at the moment is Brazilian winger Rayan.

A left-footed right-winger who is only 17-years-old, Rayan has already made 17 first team appearances for the club.

He’s quite tall at 1.85 metres for a winger and he’s very athletic making him an exciting prospect. He’s definitely someone who should be on the club’s radar.

The other is 18-year-old Matheus Ferreira, who is a Brazilian U17 international who competed at the U17 World Cup last year.

Ferreira is a holding midfielder and has 10 caps for Brazil’s U17 national team. He is yet to make his debut for Vasco, but he’s highly regarded, and it will only be a matter of time until he breaks into the senior team.
