'What a player': Frank Leboeuf tips £45m Chelsea star to have 'hell of a career' after Brighton win

Chelsea beat Brighton & Hove Albion 2-1 in the Premier League, and there were some impressive performances.

Christopher Nkunku did not disappoint after coming off the bench, with the forward scoring Chelsea‘s second goal, while Cole Palmer also managed to net once again.

His header was his 22nd in the top flight and 25th in all competitions for the Blues this season.

Qualifying for the Europa League is now practically in Chelsea’s hands.

A point against Bournemouth on Sunday will secure them a place in the competition next term, as long as Manchester United lose in the FA Cup final. One pundit recently backed the Blues to finish above their rivals in the table.

Chelsea man is going to have incredible career

This current Chelsea squad has a lot of young players in it.

Palmer, for example, is only 22, while Malo Gusto, who got an assist at the Amex Stadium, turns 21 this month.

With the trajectory that the former is on, Chelsea legend Frank Leboeuf thinks he is going to have a brilliant career.

Speaking about Palmer on ESPN after the Brighton game, Leboeuf said: “I really hope for Cole Palmer that he will have a chance to change his celebration because if he’s going to keep on scoring like that for the next 15 years, he will have to do that [rub his arms] all the time he scores — that’s going to be boring! But otherwise, what a player, what a player. I mean, what he did today [Wednesday].”

The World Cup winner also went on to add: “I just want to emphasise that the guy is about to have a hell of a career.”

Cole Palmer and Christopher Nkunku can have successful careers at Chelsea

Again, Palmer and Nkunku were Chelsea’s two goalscorers at the Amex, and both players can be huge successes at Stamford Bridge. They have the talent to.

Palmer has already proven that this season with the amount of times he has scored, while Nkunku’s record at RB Leipzig shows he can emulate his £45m teammate. The only thing that has prevented the Frenchman from doing so this term is his fitness.

In Nkunku’s final campaign at Leipzig, the 26-year-old netted 23 times in 36 outings.
