Report: Why Mauricio Pochettino absolutely lost it with Benoit Badiashile and Chelsea defence in Brighton win

Chelsea were able to beat Brighton & Hove Albion 2-1 and move up to sixth in the Premier League table.

Nevertheless, there were times in the game when manager Mauricio Pochettino was not completely happy and let his players know that.

In the end, though, Chelsea managed to get the win, which is the most important thing.

They should now qualify for the Europa League, barring a disaster on the final day of the season or Manchester United winning the FA Cup.

According to journalist Simon Phillips, Pochettino and Chelsea will review the campaign 24 hours after their last fixture against Bournemouth.

Mauricio Pochettino pulled Benoit Badiashile over during Brighton win

Chelsea took the lead in the first half, thanks to yet another Cole Palmer goal, but it appears that Pochettino was not happy with everything he saw in those first 45 minutes.

As per LondonWorld, the Argentine went absolutely mad after Brighton won the ball on both of their first-two set-pieces.

It resulted in Pochettino calling over Benoit Badiashile during a stoppage to make his feelings on what he had just witnessed clear.

There was a lot riding on this game, perhaps even Pochettino’s job, so there was no time for the 52-year-old to be friendly.

With Chelsea failing to qualify for the Champions League and Pochettino on a short-term contract, the former Paris Saint-Germain and Tottenham Hotspur manager has been under pressure for most of the season.

How did Benoit Badiashile perform overall against Brighton?

It was a pretty average performance from Badiashile. The central defender did not do anything outstanding, but he was not exactly a weak link either.

According to WhoScored, Badiashile made five clearances at the Amex Stadium, only Trevoh Chalobah made more with nine.

However, the France international failed to make a single successful tackle, while his centre-back partner made four, which was again the most in the game.

All in all, then, there is more to come from Badiashile in a Chelsea shirt.
