Report: What a furious Cole Palmer did during Chelsea's 2-1 win vs Brighton

Chelsea star Cole Palmer had reason to be happy after his side’s 2-1 win against Brighton & Hove Albion.

That victory took Chelsea into sixth place and the final Europa League spot, while the attacker also managed to score a goal.

It was his 22nd in the Premier League for Chelsea and 25th in all competitions since joining the Blues from Manchester City last summer.

During the game, though, it does not look like Palmer was always happy.

Chelsea legend Frank Leboeuf has tipped the 22-year-old to have a brilliant career.

Cole Palmer angry during Brighton clash

Palmer could have finished the game with two goals.

Before his header, Chelsea were awarded a penalty after Marc Cucurella was brought down in the box.

However, it was overturned by the VAR, with replays showing that Facundo Buonanotte actually won the ball.

Nevertheless, Palmer was still furious to the point where he threw the ball at Brighton supporters, according to LondonWorld.

He would not have been too disappointed at full-time, though, with Chelsea managing to get those three vital points.

Why Cole Palmer and Chelsea must hate VAR right now

In the end, Chelsea’s penalty being revoked because of the VAR did not impact them.

However, it was a different story when they had a goal chalked off in their 2-2 draw with Aston Villa at the end of last month.

Had that not happened, Palmer and his teammates would be just one point behind London rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

VAR may not even be a talking point in the Premier League next season.

According to The Athletic, clubs from the top flight of English football will discuss whether it should be scrapped or not in their next AGM in June.

On the subject of meetings, Chelsea are set to have their own one once the campaign concludes. Journalist Simon Phillips has claimed that they will hold an end-of-season summit on Monday.
