'It won't': Neil Warnock offers crucial advice to Leeds United ahead of Norwich City clash tonight

Neil Warnock has given some advice to Leeds United ahead of tonight’s clash against Norwich City in the play-off semi-finals with pressure on The Whites to perform at Elland Road.

Leeds go into the game having secured a solid 0-0 draw in the first leg at Carrow Road, handing Leeds the impetus to go on and reach the final at Wembley on May 26 with home advantage in the second leg.

The Whites will know nothing is done as of yet, coming into the play-offs with a poor run of form after four defeats in the last six games and just one clean sheet in the last eight Championship matches.

This Leeds side are far from their best, their marauding form that saw a place in the top become a real possibility. But the pressure told in the final few weeks and Leeds have had to make do with the play-offs.

Tonight then, is a huge game and the season’s successes rest on whether The Whites can surpass Norwich into the Championship play-off final against West Brom or Southampton at the end of the month.

Former Leeds manager Warnock gave his verdict to TalkSPORT (Thursday, 9.25AM) and had some advice for his old club going into tonight’s clash:

Warnock has some advice for Leeds ahead of Norwich clash

Danny Mills made the point on Thursday morning that a clash against Norwich will “not be easy” for Leeds but that if The Whites play anywhere near their best, then Daniel Farke’s side will be victorious.

Warnock has plenty of experience in the play-offs, winning them with Notts County, Huddersfield Town and Plymouth during his enormous career. He told Leeds to play the game and not the occasion tonight.

“It’ll be a full house. Daniel has done a great job, everybody will expect them to go through but it won’t be easy, Norwich have a steady side. Don’t play the occasion, play the game,” Warnock told TalkSPORT.

Injury news going into tonight’s clash as Leeds host Norwich

Dan James made his comeback from injury on Sunday for the final few minutes and he is likely to start on the bench again, though may be given more of a run out while Connor Roberts is available for selection.

But Leeds will be without Patrick Bamford with reports stating he is not in tonight’s squad to take on The Canaries, as a knee injury continues to keep the one-time England striker on the sidelines at Elland Road.

Of course, Stuart Dallas will be watching on from he sidelines with injury preventing him from playing since April 2022 and forcing him into retirement while Pascal Struijk is also missing until the summer.
