South Holland District Council’s free Eco Activity Day in Sutton Bridge to teach public how to be more environmentally friendly

Members of the public can learn how to be more green with a free family activity day this month.

South Holland District Council is hosting an Eco Activity Day at Sutton Bridge Memorial Park Playing Field on Thursday, May 30, where there will be something for all ages to try out while discovering how to become an environmental champion.

Between 11am and 3pm, there will be street theatre, crafting, minibeast hunting and the chance to talk to some community groups to find out what they do.

The event is free for all to attend

Councillor Tracey Carter, South Holland District Council’s portfolio holder for communities, said: “This is going to be such a fantastic event with a really important theme to it.

“We’re hopeful that families will be able to come down and enjoy the free activities while also learning something that perhaps they didn’t know before.

“It promises to be a great day, rain or shine.”

Rhubarb Theatre, a company from Lincoln, will be there to perform their show ‘Collection Day’ which tells the story of two refuse collectors heroically cleaning the streets.

Funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund the performance focuses on waste, recycling, reusing and the impact pollution has on our wildlife and waterways.

Various activities including crafts and minibeast hunting will be available
