Dutch coach names 30-man squad for Euros with six Bundesliga names

Netherlands coach Ronald Koeman named six Bundesliga players in his provisional 30-man squad for Euro 2024 on Thursday.

The 1988 champions boast Jeremie Frimpong (Bayer Leverkusen), Matthijs de Ligt (Bayern Munich), Ian Maatsen and Donyell Malen (Borussia Dortmund), Xavi Simons (RB Leipzig) and Wout Weghorst (Hoffenheim) in the initial squad.

Four names must be cut before the June 14-July 14 tournament in Germany.

Eight Eredivisie players, seven Premier League names, 5 Serie A players and three Spanish-based stars help make up the 30, along with Georginio Wijnaldum of Saudi club Al Ettifaq.

The Dutch meet Poland, France and Austria in the group stage and have warm-ups againast Canada (June 6) and Iceland (June 10) before heading to their Euro base in Wolfsburg.
