Report: Cristiano Ronaldo has privately told Al-Nassr to go and sign £47m Man United player

Cristiano Ronaldo has urged his club Al-Nassr to sign a Manchester United player this summer.

The Portuguese superstar controversially left Old Trafford in November 2022 after falling out with Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag. He joined Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr in January 2023 and has been brilliant for them since – he has scored 42 goals this season

Now, Ronaldo wants one of his old Manchester United teammates to join him in Riyadh once the summer transfer window opens in June.

Cristiano Ronaldo tells Al-Nassr to sign Bruno Fernandes from Manchester United

Manchester United are expected to undergo a lot of changes this summer.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe has come in, and he will surely want to put his own stamp on the club. A new manager could well replace Erik ten Hag, while many current players could be shown the door.

Bruno Fernandes is Manchester United’s captain and arguably their most important player. He has been incredible for them since moving to Old Trafford for an initial fee of £47 million (BBC).

The Portugal international has played 231 games for the Red Devils in all competitions over the years and has scored 79 goals and provided 65 assists.

He has directly contributed to 27 goals in the 2023/24 season as well, which is a brilliant return for an attacking midfielder. United would really struggle without him.

Fernandes will enter the final two years of his contract this summer, and there has been a bit of speculation surrounding his future.

The Mirror now claim that Cristiano Ronaldo wants Fernandes to join him in Saudi Arabia and has even urged Al-Nassr to make a move to sign him.

It has been revealed that the Saudi Pro League side are willing to go big to land Fernandes. The report claims they could go as high as £80-£90 million to get him.

Fernandes is said to have had a meeting with United’s board recently, where he ‘sought assurances’ over the direction of the club in the coming years.

What Bruno Fernandes has already said about playing with Cristiano Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the greatest players to ever play football.

The Portuguese superstar has been amazing over the last two decades. He has done it all at club level and is still going strong at the age of 39.

Bruno Fernandes knows Ronaldo very well having played with him in the Portuguese national team as well as at Manchester United.

The midfielder has already delivered his verdict on playing with his legendary compatriot, and those comments are now very interesting amid rumours of a potential reunion this summer.

Fernandes told Portugoal about Ronaldo in October 2023: “Do I have the notion that I’m playing alongside a history maker? No, I don’t have a notion, I have the certainty! We’re all aware of it.

“We all understand the force and impact that Ronaldo has, the force and the impact that Ronaldo has had on the future of many of us Portuguese players, the opportunities that he’s created for the future generations of players, the way others began to look at Portugal.

“He’s done extraordinary things that will probably never be repeated. We hope they are, for the good of football, but I think it’s unlikely.”
