Drone strike on Russian Krasnodar region: Fire erupts at Tuapse oil refinery

A fire broke out at a local oil refinery in the Russian city of Tuapse (Krasnodar region) due to today's drone attack, according to the local operational headquarters and Russian media.

The network shows footage of a fiery emergency at the refinery and smoke billowing over the facility due to the fire and the moment of the UAV strike.

Russian Telegram channels talk about the work of air defense in this city through drones, and that a siren is sounding. Residents say that the drone attack was on the Tuapse refinery.

At the same time, local authorities confirm the drone attack on the oil refinery, where "as a result of the fall" of one of the two UAVs "there was a fire on the territory of the refinery."

It is also claimed that emergency services have begun to extinguish the fire, and the fire has been localized. According to preliminary information, there are no casualties.

There are also reports from residents that there are communication interruptions in the city.

Nighttime explosions in Novorossiysk and Krasnodar region

Earlier it was reported that on the night of May 17, a series of explosions occurred in the city of Novorossiysk (Krasnodar region, Russia) due to a drone attack. It was also reported that the drone strike hit the port.

Russian Astra news agency wrote that residents counted 33 drones and more than 35 explosions. At the same time, the governor of the Krasnodar region spoke about the suppression of 10 drones by air defense forces. Also, according to him, local fires broke out due to the fall of the UAV wreckage. There were no casualties.

Meanwhile, Russian networks and statements by Russian military commanders talked about strikes in Novorossiysk. The press reported that traffic on Magistralnaya Street was blocked in the city after the night attack.
