Top 25 running back commits in 2025

The June official visit swing is in the rearview mirror as many of the top prospects in the nation continue to come off the board. Looking at the running back position in the 2025 cycle, pickings are beginning to look slim with senior seasons approaching.

Of the top 50 RBs in the On3 Industry Ranking, 42 are currently pledged to Power Four programs. That includes 16 of the top 20 in the cycle.

Below are the top 25 committed running backs in the On3 Industry Ranking, as of June 29.

Harlem Berry — LSU commit

resetting-lsu-2025-recruiting-board-running-back

School: Metairie (La.) St. Martin’s Episcopal
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 17 NATL. (No. 1 RB)

Scouting Summary: Harlem Berry is the most electric running back in the 2025 cycle. Possesses elite burst and effortless movement skills. Measured in at over 5-foot-10 and around 180 pounds prior to his junior season. Registers as a high end athlete with elite speed on the track and in the combine setting. Won state titles in the 100 and 200 meters as a sophomore with times of 10.57 seconds and 21.43 seconds, respectively. Most importantly, transfers his outstanding top end speed onto the field in a functional way. A threat to take it to the house on any touch. A light, springy mover who shifts gears and changes directions at full speed. Displays outstanding vision. Reads blocks and bursts through the line to the second level. The game moves slow for him at the prep level. Runs through contact and shows balance that belies his size. Catches the ball well out of the backfield and projects as a viable option on passing downs.”

Gideon Davidson — Clemson commit

School: Lynchburg (Va.) Liberty Christian
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 70 NATL. (No. 3 RB)

On Davidson: Liberty Christian Academy coach Frank Rocco doesn’t hold back when talking about Gideon Davidson. “Gideon’s our warrior,” LCA coach Frank Rocco told The News & Advance. “He’s going to get the ball. He’s going to compete until he runs out of gas.” Davidson never ran out of gas in his junior year of high school football. During his 2023 season, Davidson finished the year with 2,752 rushing yards and 43 touchdowns. In the 14 games during the season, Davidson averaged 194 rushing yards per game and 12.9 yards per carry while leading his team to its first ever state championship. That success helped him earn MaxPreps Junior Player of the Year honors. “He’s just a naturally gifted freak is what he is,” Rocco said. “It’s just all natural. As he continues to learn the game of football and the specific techniques and the cerebral part of the game, he’s going to be just unbelievable.”

Jordon Davison — Oregon commit

School: Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 96 NATL. (No. 5 RB)

Davison on his commitment: “They’re a team on rise. And I have a chance to play early over there and contribute to a national championship … “They show a whole bunch of love, you know? They’re very consistent on how they were recruited me. I wouldn’t even say they recruited me. They just build relationships and they truly care and they continue to be a part of me and my family.”

Anthony Rogers — Alabama commit

Alabama vist Anthony Rogers

School: Montgomery (Ala.) Carver
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 126 NATL. (No. 6 RB)

Scouting Summary: Anthony Rogers starts off with a great burst and is very explosive. He had really good track times during his freshman year, but was also showing off the speed on the field- that’s what’s most important when evaluating a running back. He has a compact built- sturdy at his height. He showed game-breaking ability as a freshman. We saw him do even more as a sophomore when he averaged 8.7 yards per carry. He is really fast in the first 10 yards. You see that on the field. He has really good contact balance and plays with a low center of gravity. He has good vision and runs through arm tackles. He can take on a bigger load and not just be a complimentary speed piece to an offense.

Alvin Henderson — Auburn commit

alvin henderson

School: Elba (Ala.)
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 152 NATL. (No. 8 RB)

Scouting Summary: Alvin Henderson is the most productive of the top running back prospects in this cycle coming out of his junior season. He plays at a lower level in Alabama, but he is utterly dominant against that competition, as you would expect from a blue-chip prospect. As a junior, he ran for over 3,500 yards and 61 touchdowns at 15.7 yards per carry. I think he’ll probably go down as one of the top rushers in the state of Alabama’s history and he may even register on some national record books. That’s one thing that is apparent pretty quickly when you’re looking at him as a prospect. He just dominates his competition. From a skill set perspective, he’s fairly well-rounded across the board.”
