'Appeals to me': £30m defender makes transfer admission, amid reports Tottenham want to sign him

Tottenham are in for a busy summer and one potential signing has given an indication of his desires for Premier League football.

Spurs are expected to make a number of moves and will also look to move players out of the door as they Ange Postecoglou plans another rebuild.

The Spurs boss has admitted in recent weeks that he needs to see change this summer. And most fans are confident he’ll oversee the right moves to make a difference.

Of course, new signings will be important. Postecoglou has been backed by his board since he arrived and will be backed again.

And one potential signing, Alessandro Buongiorno, has admitted that a move to England is very much something that intrigues him.

Alessandro Buongiorno open to Premier League move amid Tottenham interest

In quotes taken from Gianluca Di Marzio, the Torino defender admitted he’s open to moving to the Premier League.

“The Premier League is a league that particularly appeals to me because there are very strong teams and players, with whom I can continue to work and grow. However, I also feel good in Italy, so we will see what choices to make in the future,” Buongiorno said.

Buongiorno is said to be a target for Tottenham, albeit there are different reports on that as well.

It was recently suggested that Spurs were convinced about making a £30m move for the defender but Postecoglou himself has apparently changed his mind.

Buongiorno has impressed over in Italy and as covered on TBR Football before, he’d even made more tackles than a certain Cristian Romero at one point this season.

Tottenham could do with another defender

Spurs’ overhaul is set to include a number of positions being looked at and one of those will be in defence.

Yes, Romero and Micky van de Ven seem to have formed a decent partnership but so far, Radu Dragusin has looked unconvincing when he’s played.

Of course, the summer will give Dragusin the time to settle further but his agent seems to speak a lot, and that’s not something that will sit well with Big Ange.

Buongiorno, then, could give Tottenham and Postecoglou another excellent option in defence.
