Five Nights at Freddy’s is returning to the big screen soon.
Freddy Fazbear and the gang of possessed and broken down animatronics are coming back to the theater in Five Nights at Freddy’s 2. The sequel has just been confirmed to the surprise of nobody at all. Here’s what we know so far!
When is Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 coming out?
Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 has been confirmed for December 5, 2025. This is unfortunately a long way out but it will make for an exciting (and scary) holiday season.
Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 producers
Universal and Blumhouse are the ones to bring us Five Nights 2 after directing the first one as well.
Blumhouse has become a well known name in horror with Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 being just one of many scary sequels the company has planned for 2025. The others are M3GAN 2.0 in May and The Black Phone 2 in October.
Five Nights at Freddy’s made $297 million last October, becoming Blumhouse’s highest-grossing film of all time. It’s not a shock to see them announcing a sequel to the successful scary movie based on one of the most buzzed about game franchises in recent years.
What is the plot of Five Nights at Freddy’s 2?
We do not currently know the plot of Five Nights at Freddy’s 2. The first film centered around reluctant and desperate security guard Josh Hutcherson and the creepy antics he encounters while watching over Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. He soon invites his younger sister to join him and she creates close bonds with the gang of animatronics. We soon learn the sinister secrets behind Freddy and his crew, including why they haunt the pizza joint and how it relates to Josh.
It’s unclear if Five Nights 2 will center around Josh once again or if it will feature an entirely new storyline with new characters for the animatronics to terrorize. There are plenty of games to choose from, all connected to some pretty consistent and strong lore.
