A new ad from the center-left Third Way group pokes fun at Donald Trump's legal travails and tries to prod him into taking the stand at his hush money trial.

The group is spending five figures on digital ads that will air in New York City, south Florida and Dallas, where the former president will speak at a National Rifle Association meeting this weekend. It highlights Trump's past comments on the Fifth Amendment, reported the New York Times.

“Take the stand, Donald, or admit you’re a coward,” says the new ad, pointing toTrump’s past comment that “if you’re innocent, why are you taking the Fifth Amendment?”

“He has talked tough for years about how only guilty people and mobsters take the Fifth,” said Matt Bennett, a co-founder of Third Way. “Now it appears he’s going to do that himself, and we wanted to remind him of that and see if we could taunt him into testifying, frankly, because it might not go well for him if he did that.”

Trump's lawyers have told the judge overseeing his hush money case that he hasn't decided whether he will testify in his trial on 34 counts of falsifying business records to cover up payments to adult film actress Stormy Daniels to prevent her from discussing their past sexual relationship ahead of the 2016 election.
