Russian troops today, May 17, used six missiles to strike the Odesa region. Half of them were successfully intercepted, according to the command of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

It is noted that during the day on May 17, 2024, Russian troops attacked the Odesa region with three ballistic missiles (presumably Iskander-M) and three guided air missiles Kh-59/Kh-69.

At the same time, air defense managed to destroy three Kh-59 guided air missiles in the Odesa region.

What else the military shot down

The Air Force reported that it also managed to destroy 2 ZALA reconnaissance drones, a Lancet strike drone, and 1 unidentified drone in the Kherson region.

Additionally, an unidentified drone was destroyed in the Kirovohrad region.

Strike on the Odesa region

Today, Russian forces shelled the Odesa region several times. Initially, the regional head, Oleh Kiper, reported a fire after the strike and five injured people.

Later, Kiper wrote that one person had died due to the shelling by Russia, and the number of injured had increased to eight.
