2024 Hunstanton and District Festival of Arts starts this month

The summer programme for the Hunstanton and District Festival of Arts starts this month.

The annual Buskers Corner will be held at the Victorian Pavilion on Saturday, May 25 from 2pm.

This allows new and more experienced musicians to just turn up and play for the public.

There will be different events taking place over the next few months in Hunstanton

It is an informal venue near the bowling green on the seafront. If you have never played or sung in public before, then this could be the place to start.

Contact Ian Wells via the website for more details at www.festival3bythesea.org.

Also on May 25, there will be a summer craft fair at Hunstanton Town Hall where you can find a wide variety of high quality handmade gifts.

There will also be delicious cakes and savouries available from the Bearded Kitchen to enjoy.

New this year is a junior disco for children aged from five to 12 at Hunstanton Community Centre on Avenue Road on Friday, June 28.

It’s called The Seaside Shuffle and will start at 6pm, finishing at 8pm. Go along and have some fun!

Refreshments are available but places must be booked in advance via the website where there is a QR code www.festval3bythesea.org.

Other events coming up include the Hunstanton Music Festival featuring live local bands.

This event is now so popular that it will spread over two days on July 20 and 21.

The music runs from noon until 7pm each day.

Bring seating, weather protection and a picnic for full enjoyment.

Headliners are Second Sunset on day one, and day two will be The Melody Beats.

Full line-up details will be available nearer the time.

Later in the season there will be some brand-new arts workshops at the Community Centre and Town Hall Hub for would-be creative artists of all ages.

There will also be a last chance to design a ceramic tile for the sea wall for all the family in August.

A new brochure for the festival is now available to download, and a printed version will be available soon.

Hunstanton and District Festival of Arts is supported by West Norfolk Council and Hunstanton Town Council, but is an independent registered charity.
