'I saw it': Ange Postecoglou suggests he wasn't happy with what one Tottenham player did vs Man City

Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou has had his say on how one of his players behaved during the game against Manchester City.

Spurs suffered a 2-0 defeat at home to the champions on Tuesday night. Postecoglou was far from happy with many things that happened during the game, and he touched on that after the loss.

Now, ahead of the final fixture of the season, the Australian has delivered his verdict on one of his players’ behaviour against Manchester City.

Ange Postecoglou suggests he wasn’t happy with Rodrigo Bentancur’s angry reaction

The defeat against Manchester City was Tottenham‘s fifth in six games.

The terrible run of results, which saw Spurs lose to Newcastle United, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and City, cost them a place in next season’s Champions League.

Tottenham do, however, deserve some praise for the way they played against Pep Guardiola’s side.

Spurs were the better team for large parts of the game and could’ve easily picked up a point if Heung-min Son finished his chance when he went through on goal.

However, the Korean missed, and Tottenham ended up losing.

One moment during the game made a few headlines. Rodrigo Bentancur was substituted in the second half and the Uruguay international was absolutely furious.

He was seen kicking the bench in anger, and Postecoglou bluntly claimed after the game that he neither saw the reaction nor did he care about it.

The Australian was asked about the incident again on Friday, and this time, he admitted that Bentancur shouldn’t have reacted the way he did.

He said, as per Football London: “Yeah I saw it, we had a chat about it. He was angry but I don’t think that’s the way you react.

“He understands that but it wasn’t the biggest issue of the night for me, that’s for sure.”

When asked what Bentancur was angry about, Postecoglou replied: “Well, he just wants to win, he wanted to be out there helping the team to win. He felt he wanted to be out there fighting.”

Bentancur made a mistake that cost Tottenham

Rodrigo Bentancur actually had a good game against Manchester City.

The Tottenham midfielder was good on the ball, caused the visitors a few problems and even came close to scoring a brilliant goal early in the game.

However, after picking up a yellow card, Bentancur found himself in a position where he just could not make another serious foul.

The Uruguayan, as a result, backed off from a challenge on Phil Foden, and the same move led to Erling Haaland’s opening goal.

That, among other things, cost Tottenham the game, which is a shame as they really could’ve picked up a point on Tuesday.
