Report: Premier League club readying £15m bid and five-year contract for Arsenal player

Arsenal have a busy summer ahead of them as Mikel Arteta looks to strengthen his ranks for another Premier League and Champions League tilt.

Some big outgoings from Arsenal are also on the cards. For instance, Gunners first-teamers Mohamed Elneny and Cedric Soares are set to leave as their contracts expire.

Arteta and Edu will also need to find solutions for players who are still under contract but haven’t been featuring regularly, or have been loaned out.

One player whose future remains uncertain is Aaron Ramsdale, who lost his first-team spot in between the sticks to David Raya earlier this season.

Now, a report from The Telegraph has claimed that a Premier League rival is plotting a £15million bid for the Gunners goalkeeper.

Newcastle United are reportedly looking for a top stopper to replace Martin Dubravka and compete with Nick Pope, who has missed most of the season through injury.

The Magpies are said to be willing to spend £15million for Ramsdale and offer him a five-year contract at St James’ Park.

Newcastle will fancy their chances of signing Aaron Ramsdale from Arsenal

Ramsdale is an outstanding goalkeeper whose fall down the Arsenal pecking order continues to be the subject of much debate for fans and neutrals.

Last year, the CIES Football Observatory listed the England international in first place in their list of the world’s most expensive goalkeepers, as per their statistical model.

However, it remains to be seen whether Arsenal would accept £15million for Ramsdale, considering he cost them £30million and his contract runs until 2026 with a year’s option.

While the player himself has rubbished claims that he has already agreed a move to St James’ Park, Newcastle certainly seem interested in getting a move over the line.

Let’s see what happens in the coming months. Ramsdale is too good to be a second-choice keeper and he would be an asset to any Premier League team.
