Premier League side are 'pushing' £15m deal for Arsenal ace despite player denying rumours

Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale is expected to leave the club this summer after losing his place in the team.

The 26-year-old was Arsenal’s number one for two seasons, but the arrival of David Raya in the summer relegated him to the bench.

Raya initially struggled, but his outstanding performances in 2024 showed why Mikel Arteta brought him in, and he has now won the Premier League Golden Glove.

Ramsdale is a highly valuable asset, as an England International coming into his prime years, who is also on a long-term contract, and Arsenal should expect a big fee for him. However, this may not be the case, as Newcastle United push for a deal.

Newcastle United are pushing to sign Arsenal star Aaron Ramsdale for £15m

A report from The Telegraph has now revealed that Newcastle are willing to pay £15m for Ramsdale this summer as they look to make him their first-choice goalkeeper.

“Newcastle United are pushing ahead with a deal to sign Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale in the first move of what promises to be a busy summer of ins and outs at St James’ Park,” the report stated.

“It is thought Newcastle are willing to pay around £15 million for Ramsdale, with the offer of a five-year contract.”

This came after news emerged surrounding Ramsdale’s potential move to Newcastle, but the goalkeeper denied the rumours.

“News to me,” he posted on X.

Arsenal signed Ramsdale for £24m in 2021, and he has since improved from his younger days at Bournemouth and Sheffield United.

Despite losing his place in the side, Ramsdale is still a very capable goalkeeper at the higher end of the Premier League, and Arsenal should certainly not be making a loss on such a valuable asset.

It remains to be seen what kind of finances Premier League clubs will have available to them, with profit and sustainability rules meaning that Newcastle may have to make a major sale, and star pair Bruno Guimaraes and Alexander Isak have actually been linked with Arsenal.

Arsenal fans would be frustrated if Ramsdale does leave for a lower fee than he was signed for, but if interested parties have their spending power limited, then the Gunners may find themselves in a difficult position over him.
