Erling Haaland sends three-word message to Phil Foden after winning Premier League award

Erling Haaland has shared a message to Phil Foden on social media after the midfielder picked up another award.

After being named the Football Writer’s Association’s Men’s Player of the Year, Foden recently won the Premier League Player of the Season award.

The Englishman then shared a post on his official Instagram account that contained an image of him holding this latest award.

In the caption, Foden had this to say.

He said: “What a week! So honoured to receive these prestigious awards! Thank you to everyone who voted for me, to the City staff and coaches, my family and of course, my teammates. I’m delighted with the way I’ve played so far this season and it wouldn’t have been possible without those around me.”

This post then caught the attention of Haaland, who shared this three-word response to Foden’s message.

He said: “Well deserved brother.”

Added to this message were a blue love heart emoji and a high-five emoji to reiterate how the striker felt about seeing his teammate win this latest individual award.

Foden fully warranted this latest award

This season has seen the midfielder score 17 goals and deliver eight assists in 34 Premier League appearances.

In addition to that, Foden has made more key passes (68) than any other player at the Manchester club.

The England international also has the second-highest total of shot-creating actions (136), goal-creating actions (20), carries into the penalty area (55) and shots on target (44) in the City ranks for this campaign.

Even though Haaland has scored 27 goals in 30 Premier League games this season, more than any other player in the division, the fact that he has said how deserving Foden is to win this latest award shows just how much of a team player he is and how much he’s admired what the midfielder has done on the pitch over the past few months.
