Report: West Ham now close to signing Arsenal player; he's just confirmed his exit on Instagram

West Ham United are making their move to land one of Arsenal’s up and coming talents before the summer window even gets going.

The Hammers are moving into the summer knowing that next season they’ll have a new manager in place after David Moyes agreed to move on.

Moyes leaves the club having delivered a European trophy and another top ten finish.

However, the work off the field to bring in new players doesn’t stop just because Moyes is leaving with the club planning for both the present and future.

And according to reports, the Hammers are swooping for one Arsenal youngster.

West Ham to sign Arsenal’s Luis Brown after trials

According to the respected Jorge Bird’s Arsenal Youth site, West Ham are close to signing Brown from the Gunners.

The 18-year-old defender is set to depart London Colney and start afresh and the player himself has confirmed his exit from the Gunners on Instagram.

Arsenal have so many talented youngsters

While there’s little known about Brown and the reasons for moving on, one thing is for sure that is that Arsenal have a bunch of talented young players.

That makes it even harder for the likes of Brown to break into the first-team picture and at the moment, even Arsenal’s under-21s are flying.

For West Ham, this is a no lose scenario really.

They are signing a young player from a heralded academy who, with a bit of luck, will go on to become a first-team player and do the business.

While it might not be a big signing for the Hammers ahead of another busy summer, landing top youth prospects is an important aspect of any Premier League club.

West Ham, then, look to have beaten a few to the punch here with signing Luis Brown.
