Journalist shares the message Liverpool fans will display for Jurgen Klopp in the stands at Anfield tomorrow

The build-up is nearly over, it’s almost time for Liverpool supporters to say farewell to Jurgen Klopp.

Since his arrival in 2015, Klopp has given Reds fans joy upon joy. Winners of just about everything possible during his time at the club, it’s so very difficult to see the boss leave.

But, having known Jurgen was going to be on his way since January, Liverpool fans have at least been able to prepare for this moment.

There is no easy way to say goodbye to one of the greatest managers in your club’s history. But Anfield always knows how to strike the right tone with these things, and Sunday will be no different.

It’s bound to be a hugely emotional day, as Klopp and much of his coaching team take their final stand for the club. And along with any planned tributes from FSG and the club itself, there’s set to be a mosaic in the Anfield stands with a special message for Jurgen.

Liverpool supporters prepare Anfield mosaic

Although it has been months in the making, we’re not sure any Liverpool fan is quite ready to lose their manager.

The reasons for Klopp bowing out are absolutely understandable and there’s plenty to look forward to in the Arne Slot era.

But from 2015 up until now, the ride has simply been so thrilling, so magical. And Jurgen has underpinned it all. More than anything, his leaving signifies a passing of time.

Look back on our lives when Klopp joined in October 2015 to now and they’ll almost all be vastly different. And yet there’s one thing that has remained the same: Jurgen.

There’s no real way for supporters to ever repay the feeling of knowing that our club has been in the safest of hands over the past nine years. But on Sunday, they’ll try.

As per journalist James Pearce on X, fans at Anfield will be part of a collective mosaic. The text will read “Danke Jurgen YNWA,” and will be displayed across three different stands. It’s going to look amazing.

Who else is leaving Liverpool?

While Klopp will rightly take most of the attention on Sunday, he won’t be the only one appearing at Anfield for the last time.

Pep Lijnders has been a huge part of Liverpool’s success under the German and will also take his leave. The assistant manager is heading to Austria to take on the head coach job at RB Salzburg.

Lijnders will be joined in Salzburg by elite performance coach Vitor Matos, while goalkeeping coach John Achterberg also leaves after 15 years at Liverpool.

Achterberg’s protégé Jack Robinson is also going, while Klopp’s long-time assistant Peter Krawietz will bow out, too. Fitness coach Andreas Kornmayer is another leaving, with first-team operations manager Ray Haughan following.

On the playing side, the confirmed departures belong to Joel Matip and Thiago Alcantara who will both likely get individual send-offs. But none will sting more than the boss. Danke Jurgen. For it all.
