The top uncommitted prospect in the 2025 cycle is in Athens. Charlotte Providence Day Five-Star Plus+ offensive tackle David Sanders headlines Georgia’s big scavenger hunt recruiting weekend.

He’s alongside a bevy of other top recruits and Bulldog commits. He posted a photo on X alongside UGA head coach Kirby Smart, current Georgia four-star offensive line commit Mason Short and four-star offensive tackle target Ziyare Addison.

“Obviously it’s no secret that I love Georgia. They’ve been one of the schools that have been at the top for me the whole recruiting process. You can compete for national championships and you can be developed into a first round talent,” Sanders told On3 upon naming his top schools earlier this year.

Sanders is coming off an official visit to Nebraska last weekend — his second OV of the recruiting process. He kicked it off with an official to South Carolina last month. Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State, Tennessee and the Dawgs are all also set to receive OVs from the No. 2 prospect in the 2025 cycle.

The 6-foot-5.5, 275-pounder kicked off his May with a trip to Ohio State to see the Buckeyes. He visited Tennessee on consecutive weekends last month, took his OV with the Gamecocks and added a surprise trip to Lincoln. Sanders continues to entertain multiple top programs as he enters a pivotal summer.

Georgia has always carried some momentum in the race for Sanders, and this weekend could help continue that. The Bulldogs currently hold a slight edge in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, though no official predictions have been logged, as of May 18.

“I think Georgia is a major contender for Sanders. It feels like Clemson and Georgia check a lot of boxes for him and his family. Georgia has been very open to the Sanders’ family. That’s a big piece of the puzzle for them. Sanders has younger sisters and being close to them or having easier access to them is key. Georgia has done a really good job of welcoming them as well. The Bulldogs landed 6 guys in 2024 which doesn’t hurt them but it is something that is a factor as well. Sanders doesn’t seem to mind sitting and developing,” Georgia insider Jeremy Johnson said of Sanders back in March.

Sanders isn’t the only five-star on campus this weekend, either. Five-star linebacker Zayden Walker and five-star safety Trey McNutt are also in Athens, as are multiple other blue-chippers, including four-star running back Bo Jackson, Addison and four-star wide receiver Marcus Harris.
