In a number of settlements in temporarily occupied Crimea, explosions are heard, according to RIA Novosti, NP/Sevastopol, and Krymksyi Veter.

RIA Novosti, citing the Russian administration, reports that an air defence system is operating in Sevastopol, allegedly to repel a missile attack.

Local Telegram channels report the closure of the Crimean Bridge.

There are reports of explosions in Sevastopol, Yevpatoriia, Saky, and Perevalne.

According to Russians, ATACMS missiles and UAVs are allegedly being used.

Krymksyi Veter reports three strikes in one spot, towards a ship in the area of Engineer Bay in Sevastopol. According to the channel, a column of black smoke is visible.

Previous attack

The previous shelling of occupied Crimea took place on May 17. Explosions were heard in Sevastopol and the Dzhankoy district. Balaklava and Sevastopol were left without electricity. It is suspected that the targets of the attack were thermal power plants. The occupation authorities reported that dozens of UAVs and over five unmanned boats were allegedly destroyed.

Successful Ukrainian attacks on Crimea have led to the Russian air defense losing the ability to effectively cover its facilities on the occupied peninsula, according to British intelligence.
