Since the Trojans ended spring camp, the focus around USC has been on the transfer portal. And while the transfer visits haven’t been as productive as many had hoped, USC’s coaching staff has been very successful with the high school recruits once they get them on campus.

Lincoln Riley is getting ready to roll out the red carpets and host some of the best high school prospects from all over the country while also adding to USC’s nationally ranked No. 3 class—only Ohio St. and LSU rank ahead of the Trojans.

June recruiting visits got off to a hot start and will finish like it started. Below is a fluid list of visitors attending the 2nd major recruiting weekend bash.

The Defensive Line Is A Huge Priority:

2025 DL Elijah Griffin–Savannah(GA)/Savannah Christian Prep

Oregon Coaches

Even Ray Charles can see that the Trojans coaching staff has the state of Georgia on their minds and they want to pluck a 6-foot 4-5″, 300lb peach. Elijah Griffin is next up on USC defensive line coach Eric Henderson’s shopping list. Earlier in the spring Coach Henderson while in Los Angeles made his presence felt in Georgia as they watched one Bulldog commitment flip and another prospect Isaiah Gibson fall from the tree. What are the chances of USC’s defensive line starting three freshmen from Georgia in 2025?

When Coach Riley said, “An interior defensive lineman is probably the biggest need, God didn’t make many of those guys…,” he was referring to guys like Griffin.

2025 DL Justus Terry–Manchester(GA)/Manchester

Justus Terry USC

When 6-foot5″, 275lbs 5-star+ Justus Terry flipped his commitment away from the hometown Georgia Bulldogs to the USC Trojans, the folks in the SEC were probably caught by surprise. Although Coach Henderson wasn’t officially added to the staff until January 15th, he knew where to go first.–Coach Henny was visiting Five-Star Terry on (1/24). With the Bulldogs as well as other programs not backing off their recruitment, Coach Henderson will use the official visit weekend to strengthen their bond.

2025 EDGE Jared Smith–Hoover(AL)/Thompson

Alabama Edge Jared Smith hasn’t visited USC since February 3, but he’s another top target Coach Eric Henderson and the Trojans feel they have a great shot at. He’ll be back at USC June 21-23 for an official visit. As of now, it’s his final scheduled official in June. He’s also set to officially visit Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee and Ole Miss.

2025 DL Trajen Odom–Matthews(NC)/Weddington

Right now Odom has official visits set for Ohio State (6/7), Oregon (6/14), and USC (6/21). Plus he’s already taken a UCLA official. Scott Schrader from WeAreSC.com spoke with Odom recently after one of the 4-star lineman’s spring practices and ironically the Trojans could be in a good spot to land his commitment.–Despite playing his high school football in North Carolina, he’s from Los Angeles and lived nearly half his life there.

2025 DL Brandon Brown–Melbourne(FL)/au Gallie

He’s from Florida but he’s pledged to Steve Sarkisian’s Texas Longhorns. The 6-foot-2, 275-pounder and On3’s No. 19 defensive lineman for 2025 is enjoying the recruiting process after committing to the Longhorns earlier this year. He’s taken unofficial trips to USC, Florida, Miami, and LSU’s spring game since his pledge

2025 DL Gus Cordova–Austin(TX)/Lake Travis

2025 TX DL Gus Cordova

Gus was one of 3 defensive linemen joining Terry and Gibson who quickly committed to the Trojans after tasting what USC’s future on defense was cooking up.–The Trojans landed a total of 5 defensive commits that weekend. Cordova chose the Trojans over Oregon, Baylor, Texas, and Texas A&M among others.

Bolstering The Secondary:

2025 CB Chuck McDonald–Santa Ana(CA)/Mater Dei

Last week, the On300 cornerback announced a top four of Oregon, Alabama, USC, and Georgia. So now it’s all about locking in the official visit dates with Alabama on May 31st, Georgia on June 6th, followed by Oregon a week later, saving the local product’s final stop at USC.

2025 S Jontae Gilbert–Atlanta(GA)/Douglass

When Gilbert received his USC offer Donte Williams was the Trojans’ secondary coach, so right now the Georgia Bulldogs seem like the logical choice. D’Anton Lynn and Doug Belk will be looking to continue the relationship-building process with the 4-star safety. Can Belk a Georgia native convince Gilbert that LA is the place to be?

2025 LB Landon McComber–Las Vegas(NV)/Bishop Gorman

This could be a USC vs UCLA battle in the end. McComber does not yet have an On3 or On3 Industry Ranking. He has 15 Power Five offers, including ones from Michigan, Texas A&M, Wisconsin, Tennessee, Michigan State, Oklahoma, and Boston College.

USC Is Known As WRU

2025 WR Phillip Bell–Mission Viejo(CA)–Mission Viejo

Mission Viejo (Calif.) On300 receiver Phillip Bell III is back in Georgia this weekend(5/17) for his official visit. Next up for Bell are official visits to Washington on May 31, Ohio State on June 14, Tennessee on June 18 and then he’ll wrap it up with USC on June 21. The On3 Industry ranks Bell as the nation’s No. 18 receiver and No. 160 prospect overall

2025 WR Kelshaun Johnson–Houston(TX)/Hitchcock

With offers from Texas, USC, Texas Tech, Penn State, Texas A&M, Arkansas, TCU, Florida, Kansas, and Tennessee, the On3 Industry Ranking’s No. 25 wide receiver and No. 31 prospect in Texas for 2025 has plenty of options. Side note: Johnson canceled his unofficial to USC in April to attend Texas’ Orange-White game.

2025 WR Tannook Hines–Houston(TX)/Dekaney

Back in March, the speedy WR told On3, that USC and Notre Dame were the two programs communicating with him the most. Hines is the No. 308 overall player, No. 44 wide receiver nationally, and No. 50 prospect in Texas. In addition to the Irish, Hines has 31 “Core Four” (ACC, Big Ten, Big 12, SEC) offers.

The Offensive Line Is A Priority Too

2025 OT Malachi Goodman–Paramus(NJ)/Paramus

The massive 4-star offensive lineman from Paramus (NJ) Paramus Catholic, is taking his official visit to Auburn this weekend, May 17-19, and should be considered the frontrunner. Goodman will also take official visits to Penn State (May 31), Georgia (June 7), Alabama (June 14), and USC (June 21). He is currently ranked the No. 102 overall player in the class of 2025, the No. 11 offensive tackle, and the No. 4 player in the state of New Jersey according to On3.

2025 IOL Henry Fenuku–Fort Worth(TX) North Crowley

He’s ranked as the No. 360 overall prospect, the No. 29 interior offensive lineman, and the No. 59 player in Texas in the 2025 On3 Industry Ranking. On3 ranks him as the No. 24 interior offensive lineman and the No. 68 prospect in Texas.
