Prime Minister of Poland Donald Tusk has announced that the country plans to receive a loan of 0.5 billion zlotys (approximately $130 million) from the European Investment Bank for the construction of the satellite component of the European Iron Dome, according to Ukrinform.

According to Tusk, the experience of Ukraine and Israel shows that one country cannot guarantee the security of its airspace alone. Therefore, the focus is now on an Iron Dome over the entire continent.

The Polish Prime Minister announced that Warsaw has made a decision to build the satellite component within this program.

On Monday, Tusk will hold talks with the European Investment Bank. He hopes to be able to report on the successful completion of the loan process.

At the end of March, the CEO of Europe's largest ammunition manufacturer, Rheinmetall, stated that EU leaders should consider the possibility of installing short-range air defense systems similar to Israel's Iron Dome.

In April, Tusk discussed this possibility during a meeting with his Danish counterpart, Mette Frederiksen.

French President Emmanuel Macron stated that it is impossible to build the same missile defense system for Ukraine as in Israel, as this process requires significant resources and a long time.
