Thierry Henry now issues warning to Arsenal fans ahead of Premier League title race finale

Arsenal are heading into the final day of the Premier League season with an outside chance of winning a first title in 20 years.

The Gunners have performed well all season, but still find themselves behind Manchester City, and they will need a favour from David Moyes in his final game in charge of West Ham.

The atmosphere at the Emirates Stadium promises to be a positive one, with fans accepting their position in the title race as one where glory now looks unlikely, but plenty within the ground will be keeping an eye on proceedings at the Etihad Stadium.

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has now issued a warning to the fans, claiming that whilst they can be allowed to dream of the possibility of the title thanks to Mikel Arteta, that City are unlikely to drop points in their unrelenting pursuit of glory.

Thierry Henry opens up on Arsenal title chances ahead of final day

Speaking in an interview with the BBC, Henry warned Arsenal fans that it is still Man City’s title to lose.

“It’s in their hands, and I know how I would have been. It’s them, I’ve seen them doing it so many times, from the Aguero moment to the Tottenham game the other day,” he explained.

“I’ve seen them not collapsing, so it bothers me to think that they will, but the fans on the other side are like ‘hey listen, you never know what can happen.’

“When the ref blows the whistle, I hope that’s not going to bring me back to reality, because reality right now, unfortunately for everyone else, is that only the City fans can be cocky, only the City fans can be talking.”

Henry then did point out that if his old side were to win a first title since his playing days, he would then celebrate hard.

“If we win, we have the trophy, don’t come and interview me. I’m going to talk, I’m going to speak a lot!

“Man City are a special team. I just hope that they’re not going to win.”

Arsenal right now are good enough that fans would be well within their right to be confident about the prospect of major trophies.

However, the presence of Man City, both in this title race and beyond, makes it frustrating for Arsenal fans who want to see Premier League success after waiting such a long time.

Although Man City dropping points is not impossible, a lot of fans have accepted that the reality is no matter what the outcome at the Emirates, that City will likely beat West Ham to lift their fourth title in a row, and Arteta’s side will end up empty-handed despite an outstanding campaign.
