Hale End captain set to leave Arsenal with West Ham now ready to pounce ahead of summer

One Arsenal ace is now set to leave the club at the end of this season with West Ham United ready to secure his services for themselves.

Arsenal have opted not to hand professional terms to one Hale End academy ace.

18-year-old defender Luis Brown will leave Arsenal this summer.

As reported by Arsenal youth expert Jeorge Bird, Brown will depart the North London club at the end of June when his scholarship contract expires.

The teenager is currently on trial with West Ham United, who are expected to offer him a deal.

Brown has been on the books at Arsenal since under-nine level, and has captained the club at youth level on numerous occasions.

However, Brown will surely be delighted to now have the chance to sign for West Ham, if he is indeed offered professional terms by the Hammers. He has previously admitted to the official Arsenal website that he grew up a “die-hard” fan of the East London outfit.

He also has a family connection with the Irons. His father and grandfather both played for the club. His grandfather, Ken Brown, made almost 500 appearances for West Ham and played alongside Bobby Moore in the sides that won the FA Cup in 1964 and the European Cup Winners’ Cup in 1965.

The youngster will now be keen to add to his family’s legacy in claret and blue.

Arsenal youngsters set to follow Luis Brown out of the club

Brown is not the only youth prospect who will be saying farewell to the Emirates Stadium this summer. Reuell Walters has already confirmed that he will also leave Arsenal, via a post on his personal social media page.

There are also doubts about the future of Charlie Patino.

Meanwhile, there are others in the current youth setup who are expected to kick on and challenge for a place in Mikel Arteta’s first-team squad next season. Ethan Nwaneri will be hoping to break into the Arsenal first-team picture on a consistent basis next season.

The standard required to break into Mikel Arteta’s plans at Arsenal now higher than ever

Of course, it is always difficult for youngsters to make that full transition into senior football, but at the Emirates Stadium it is now arguably as hard as it has ever been.

Arteta has transformed Arsenal. The Gunners are now genuine title contenders, competing for the biggest prizes in the game. With the club challenging at such a high level, a youth player would need to be absolutely exceptional in order to break into the team on a regular basis.
