Report: Dortmund now want to reunite Jadon Sancho with 35-goal Man Utd man, they only played 14 times together

Borussia Dortmund want to strike up a deal with Manchester United to secure Jadon Sancho’s services for good next season.

Since moving to Borussia Dortmund, the Manchester United loanee has recaptured some of the form of the Jadon Sancho of old, which has meant the German side are now keen to acquire his signature once again.

The problem? The fee, Dortmund are not a club with a hefty pile of cash sitting around, which means the money that Manchester United want to recoup back on their £72m man may be a little too high.

Nevertheless, he’ll be a top priority for the Black and Yellow in the summer transfer market. However, it appears they also want to reunite him with a familiar face around Carrington.

Borussia Dortmund want Mason Greenwood

According to The Mirror, Borussia Dortmund have joined the race for Mason Greenwood. The Champions League finalists are joined by Juventus, Atletico Madrid and Napoli in the chase for the 22-year-old.

Juventus have been the most keen thus far, with the report also stating that they have spoken to Greenwood’s father Andrew in a bid to convince them that his future is in Italy.

Of course, Getafe want to keep hold of the Manchester United loanee, but after lighting up La Liga, Greenwood is now on to bigger and better things.

This now raises the possibility of the German outfit trying to forced a double deal that includes Sancho alongside Greenwood.

A £50m price tag has been slapped on Mason’s head, so with Sancho included, you could be looking at a deal nearing triple figures. Let’s see what materialises in the summer.

Dortmund could have 2/3 of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s attacking vision

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had a clear plan for the future of Manchester United’s attack when he was the Red Devils manager. He wanted Jadon Sancho, Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford as his front three.

Rashford obviously obtained a lot of success with the Red Devils, but Sancho and Greenwood never reached their peaks. Greenwood scored 35 goals since his breakthrough season in 2018, whereas Sancho only bagged a measly 12.

The pair also only got to play together 14 times, due to being suspended by United following charges of attempted rape, controlling and coercive behaviour and assault in Sancho’s first season.

Remarkably, there is a chance that United won’t have any of these players next season, with Rashford also not safe from the chopping block by Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his Ineos mob in the summer clearout.

It just shows how quickly football can change, and how off-the-pitch factors can also play a big part. Dortmund could now have 2/3 of Solksjaer’s master plan, and we’re sure they’d thrive in Germany.
