Ukrainian defenders attacked a military airfield and an oil refinery in Krasnodar Krai, as well as an oil depot in Leningrad Oblast. This occurred overnight on May 19, as reported by RBC-Ukraine citing sources.

Krasnodar Krai

According to sources, the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) in collaboration with the Ukrainian Armed Forces' drone units targeted a military airfield. Dozens of various aircraft were stationed at the airfield, which Russia uses to attack Ukrainian positions on the front lines. These include enemy aircraft such as Su-34s, Su-25s, Su-27s, and MiG-29s. Russian social media users complained about the explosions.

Additionally, SSU drones attacked the Slavyansk oil refinery. The management of the refinery reported that operations were halted after several loud strikes and Russian authorities are assessing the damages.

This marks the second drone attack by the SSU on the Kushchyovskaya military air base and the Slavyansk oil refinery in the past three weeks. During the previous attack on the airfield, several aircraft were damaged, while the refinery suffered hits to its rectification and atmospheric columns.

Leningrad region

The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense conducted a special operation overnight on May 19, targeting the Vyborg oil depot.

According to sources in the intelligence agency, three explosive devices were used to strike vertical fuel tanks at the facility. The operation resulted in the destruction of three fuel tanks.

Residents of Vyborg reported on social media a powerful explosion in the city around 2:50 AM, after which a fire broke out at the oil depot.

"The decarbonization of Putin's dictatorship will continue steadily and methodically as long as Russia uses the oil and gas sector for military purposes or remains entangled in Ukraine. The cost of Russian aggression for the Kremlin is steadily rising, already impacting their ability to supply fuel even domestically. More to come," said a spokesperson from the Main Intelligence Directorate.

Overnight explosions in Russia

Reports of explosions in Russia emerged overnight, heard by residents of Kuban and Leningrad region. Online sources discussed drone attacks.

According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, dozens of drones were purportedly shot down overnight. Russian officials claimed that 57 drones were destroyed or intercepted in Krasnodar Krai.

Additionally, the Ministry stated that three more drones were destroyed over Belgorod Oblast and one over Crimea.

Russian authorities asserted that there were allegedly no casualties from the attacks, but operations at an oil refinery in Slavyansk-on-Kuban were suspended.
