PSG make Kylian Mbappe squad decision for final Ligue 1 game

By Jude Summerfield

Kylian Mbappe has been left out of the Paris Saint-Germain squad for their final Ligue 1 game of the season on Sunday.

Mbappe will leave the French giants upon the expiry of his contract this summer and saw his last home match end in defeat last week.

The France captain, who recently teased his next move ahead of an expected switch to Real Madrid, will play no part in Sunday's trip to Metz with the Ligue 1 title already wrapped up after being left out of the matchday squad.

Mbappe was also missing from PSG's midweek squad for the win against Nice, where Bradley Barcola and Yoram Zague strikes were enough for victory, due to discomfort in his hamstring.

In his absence, manager Luis Enrique will look to the likes of Barcola, Marco Asensio and Goncalo Ramos among others to provide the goal threat. The Spaniard is also without Ousmane Dembele, Marquinhos, Gianluigi Donnarumma, Vitinha and Fabian Ruiz.

However, Mbappe is still expected to play in PSG's last game of the campaign which comes in the Coupe de France final against Lyon next Saturday.

Mbappe confirmed his decision to leave the Paris outfit earlier in May and Madrid hope to announce his arrival at the Bernabeu after the Champions League final, though a deal is still yet to be finalised.

The 25-year-old has scored a Ligue 1 high 27 goals this season, powering his side to a third title in a row and their 12th overall. However, his dream of winning a first Champions League crown came to a disappointing end in the semi-finals as they lost 2-0 on aggregate to Borussia Dortmund.

Had they progressed, PSG would have met Madrid in the final at Wembley Stadium at the start of June.
