Paulo Bernardo shares class Instagram post ahead of summer Celtic decision

Celtic midfielder Paulo Bernardo won his first senior football title yesterday and has contributed to Brendan Rodgers’ men clinching Scottish Premiership glory.

Brought in on loan from Benfica last summer, the Portugal Under-21 international is rumoured to have a buyout clause of £6.4 million.

However, there hasn’t been any indication if the club will sanction a permanent deal, and the matter will likely be pushed until the season is over.

Either way, Bernardo has gained plenty of minutes this campaign, racking up four goals and three assists in 32 appearances across all competitions [Transfermarkt].

His main highlight in a Celtic jersey was undoubtedly his stunning volley against Rangers last December, which set Brendan Rodgers’ men on their way to a crucial victory in the context of the title race.

Now, with a league winner’s medal in his name, Bernardo has sent a classy message on Instagram to share his pride at completing such an achievement.

Paulo Bernardo’s class Instagram message after title victory

Bernardo has been in and out of Rodgers’ starting line-up this campaign; however, the 22-year-old has demonstrated his qualities in the engine room when called upon, making for some intriguing conversations surrounding his long-term future this summer.

Taking to Instagram, the Almada-born midfielder delivered an emotional message after getting his hands on the Scottish Premiership trophy, accompanied by a selection of pictures with his teammates and loved ones.

As seen above, he captioned the post: ‘We’re CHAMPIONS! So grateful that I’ve achieved my first title! Can’t thank enough to my family, my girlfriend, my teammates, the supporters and this amazing club! Still another one to go next weekend.’

Winning your first title must be one of the sweetest feelings, and Bernardo certainly seems to be living it up, which is no more than he deserves after helping Celtic become champions.

Collectively, the Bhoys will enjoy some celebrations ahead of a huge week of preparations for the Scottish Cup final against Rangers next weekend, knowing a domestic double could be in the offing at Hampden.
