Iran President's Helicopter Makes Hard Landing, Condition Unknown

A helicopter carrying Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi reportedly experienced a "hard landing" on Sunday, but his condition was unknown.

The incident occurred in a remote area near the border on Azerbaijan about 375 miles northwest of Tehran, the Associated Press reported.

Iranian state media reported that Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian, the governor of Iran's East Azerbaijan province, and other officials were traveling with Raisi.

Emergency crews have not been able to reach the scene due to foggy conditions, the IRNA reported.

Interior Minister Ahmad Vahidi told the outlet that it may take time for the search-and-rescue team to reach the site.

He said he hoped that the team would arrive soon and provide more information.

This is a developing story and will be updated.
