Tmap Man Dies In High-Speed Fiery Motorcycle Crash On The Gandy Bridge

PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. \- A Tampa man was killed in a violent high-speed crash that happened Saturday at around 10:45 pm.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, a motorcycle operated by a 33-year-old Tampa man was traveling eastbound on US-92 (Gandy Bridge), approaching the Hillsborough County line at a very high rate of speed.

Troopers say a Jeep Grand Cherokee, driven by a 48-year-old St. Petersburg man, was traveling eastbound on US-92 ahead of the bike.

Prior to reaching the county line, the rider overtook and collided with the rear of Jeep, traveled off the roadway, struck the concrete barrier and was redirected back into the roadway where both the rider and the motorcyclist tumbled for several hundred feet before coming to final rest and bursting into flames.

Troopers say the Tampa man suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash, while the driver of the Jeep was not injured during the incident.
