What Radu Dragusin was spotted doing at corners during Tottenham vs Sheffield United today

Radu Dragusin was spotted helping out Guglielmo Vicario during Tottenham Hotspur’s win at Sheffield United today.

Spurs needed a result at Bramall Lane to secure their place in the Europa League next season, with both Chelsea just three points behind heading into the final day.

Dejan Kulusevski settled Tottenham’s nerves inside the opening 15 minutes with an excellent finish from the left-hand side.

Spurs had to wait until the hour mark for their second of the game, with Pedro Porro providing a stunning first-time effort from just inside the Sheffield United box.

Kulusevski doubled his tally with another well-taken finish just five minutes later to all but seal Tottenham’s place in Europe next season.

But Spurs fans would have been delighted to see an improved performance today after a run of five defeats in their last six games.

Set-pieces have been a big talking point for Ange Postecoglou and it would appear he’s made some adjustments.

What Dragusin was doing at corners during Tottenham win at Sheffield United

Guglielmo Vicario has received plenty of criticism in recent weeks due to Tottenham’s weakness from set-pieces.

The Italian shot-stopper has often been targeted by opponents, with players unsettling him during set-piece situations.

Spurs defended well from corners today and Radu Dragusin played a key role in that.

In a video posted on X, the Romanian defender can be spotted protecting Vicario by pushing Auston Trusty out of his way. This allowed Vicario to come off his line and claim the ball.

Dragusin could be the answer to Spurs’ set-piece woes

It’s no secret that Spurs have struggled at set-pieces this season, having conceded 14 times from dead-ball situations.

That’s partly down to a lack of height in the Spurs backline, with Cristian Romero the only dominant player aerially.

Yet, since Micky van de Ven’s move out to left-back last weekend, it’s allowed Postecoglou to bring in January signing Dragusin.

The 22-year-old has managed just four starts since his switch from Genoa but he offers a unique profile for Postecoglou.

Dragusin had won the most aerial duels of any player in Serie A (53) before joining Spurs a few months ago.
