Over the three weeks of May, the UK has already delivered 80 missiles for air defense to Ukraine, and another 20 are due by the end of the month. Ukrainian troops also received ammunition and armored vehicles, states British Defense Secretary Grant Shapps.

"The world cannot wait, Ukraine needs us to step up so they have what they need to push Putin back. That’s exactly what the UK has done today," he emphasized.

At the same time, he published a full report on what the UK handed over to Ukraine in May:

  • 80 missiles for air defense (another 20 will arrive by the end of May)
  • more than 20 demining systems;
  • more than 30 pallets of spare parts and mine action equipment;
  • long-range reconnaissance drones;
  • 1 million rounds of ammunition for small arms;
  • 4000 pieces of military clothing;
  • 20 Viking armored amphibious vehicles.

UK's assistance to Ukraine

The UK started helping Ukraine with weapons and ammunition before the full-scale invasion of Russia. Since then, Ukrainians have received many military aid packages from the UK.

In May, London announced the largest military aid package to Ukraine, worth 500 million pounds. The announced aid package from the UK included ammunition, missiles, and armored vehicles.
