Arsenal fans have a lot to say about Kai Havertz after his performance in win v Everton

Arsenal fans have now shared their thoughts on Kai Havertz after his goalscoring display against Everton on Sunday.

Arsenal huffed and puffed to a 2-1 win over Everton on the final day of the Premier League season.

Whilst Ally McCoist was amazed by the atmosphere that Arsenal fans generated at the Emirates Stadium, Everton were unfazed by their raucous surroundings and set up in a disciplined manner to frustrate the Gunners.

This was a must-win match for Mikel Arteta’s side. In order to stand any chance of being crowned Premier League champions, they needed to both beat Everton and for Manchester City to drop points against West Ham United.

As it panned out, Pep Guardiola’s side were able to get the win they needed against the Hammers to secure their fourth successive Premier League triumph.

Meanwhile, in North London, Arsenal looked destined to draw their own game 1-1, before Kai Havertz popped up in the 89th minute to secure a 2-1 win for his side.

How Kai Havertz has changed minds in his first season at Arsenal

It was the German’s 13th goal of what has been a rollercoaster first season for him at Arsenal.

The Gunners paid £65 million to prise him away from Chelsea in the recent summer transfer window, and he arrived at Arsenal short of confidence and took some time to settle into his new surroundings.

Arteta initially sought to convert Havertz into a midfielder, but the 24-year-old never looked particularly comfortable in the middle of the park.

After the turn of the year, though, Havertz established himself as Arsenal’s first choice striker and has gone from strength to strength ever since.

Havertz has proven his doubters wrong, and signed off on this season in style with a strike against Everton.

Arsenal fans heap praise on Kai Havertz

Arsenal fans have now had their say on Havertz and what he has produced this season.

One supporter said: “He was balling today. He has come too far from the fans crying over his signing to celebrating his goals. He has won fans over. More to come from him.”

Another stated: “without him we wouldn’t have been anywhere near, we go again.”

One supporter said: “Without Kai Havertz we wouldn’t have been challenging for the title this season. A full season of him starting up front and people will be in disbelief at the numbers he delivers.”

One Arsenal fan named Havertz: “My player of the season.”

Another chipped in with: “Doubted his signing at the start. What a steal, absolute bargain.”

Another admitted: “Havertz I slandered you at the start but this run will never be forgotten.”
