Jurgen Klopp’s instant reaction to Man City becoming champions during Liverpool dressing room speech

Man City became Premier League champions yet again on Sunday, with Liverpool finishing in third place.

It was a predictable end to the season, with City making it four league wins on the bounce. Arsenal’s win over Everton meant the Gunners finished two points behind in second.

From a Liverpool point of view, it had long looked as though the Reds would be right there with both teams on the final day of the season. But instead, the day was all about saying goodbye to Jurgen Klopp.

With City winning once again, they’ve now collected six out of the last seven championships. The one aberration for Pep Guardiola was of course Klopp and Liverpool pipping them in 2020.

And following his team’s 2-0 win over Wolves at Anfield today, that historic feat was on Jurgen’s mind.

Jurgen Klopp gives Man City title reaction

It remains to be seen whether any of City’s recent title wins will continue to be legitmiate.

The 115 Premier League charges against them hang around each and every one of their successes like a bad spell.

Klopp will know that, and when finding out that Guardiola’s team had done it again, the manager was keen to remind his players of what they’d achieved in beating the City machine.

As seen in a post from Liverpool FC on X, Klopp is giving a final post-match address to his Liverpool team. Suddenly, it dawns on him that he doesn’t yet know the identity of the title winners.

“I don’t even know yet who became champion?” asks Klopp, turning away from his players to someone off-camera. When told it was the Citizens once again, Jurgen struck a defiant tone.

“See, the only one to stop that was us, and you can do that again,” he insisted.
