Chelsea fans are all saying the same thing about Raheem Sterling after display vs Bournemouth

Chelsea fans were all making similar remarks about Raheem Sterling during his performance in Sunday’s win over Bournemouth.

Chelsea finished the 2023/24 Premier League season in front of their fans with a narrow 2-1 victory against Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side secured sixth in the league table with a win on the final day, which means European football will definitely return to west London next season. Incidentally, it’s the Europa League for the Blues if Manchester City win the FA Cup final, but it’s the Europa Conference League if Manchester United win the final at Wembley Stadium.

Moises Caicedo’s stunning goal from practically the halfway line put Chelsea in front versus Bournemouth. Afterwards, Raheem Sterling scored what turned out to be the winning goal early in the second-half.

A selection of Blues supporters on social media were quite impressed with the way Sterling signed out for the season.

It’s not been the smoothest of rides this year for the 29-year-old winger, even losing his starting position at times. He does finish the campaign with 10 goals and nine assists across all competitions, though.

He was recalled to the starting line-up against Bournemouth and rewarded his manager with a left-footed goal inside the box from a tight angle.

Here are some Chelsea fans on X all saying that Sterling’s saved the best version of himself for the end of the season:

One fan said: “This is why I back Sterling. Form is temporary but class is permanent.”

Another wrote: “Lovely goal from Sterling! Welcome back to the side, delighted for him!”

A third claimed: “What a finish Sterling, he’s been class today.”

Another posted: “Credit to Sterling – finishing the season strongly.”

A fifth supporter asked: “Where was this Raheem Sterling all season?”

Another exclaimed: “Sterling if you be playing like this all season we could have won the league.”

Finally, another said: “This is the kind of Raheem that we need since the start of the season.”
